On Saturday, Hadlee performed in the Carbon Dance Classic dance competition. We already had a friend party for her, as you all know, but we needed a family party too. We thought it would be a perfect day to have her family party so people could come watch her dance and then celebrate her birthday. We are efficient, what can I say. This is Hadlee dressed up for her kung fu dance.

Julia's girls did a great job and took 1st place in 14 of the 16 categories they entered and second place in the other two. Hadlee's group took first in both of their dances. She didn't get to keep the trophy, which Julia had to repeatedly tell her, but she did get to pose for a picture with it.
I thought since we were going to be watching her dance that we should have a dancing theme for the party. I found a dancing cake online and tried to come close. It doesn't look as good as the one online did, but Hadlee was happy with it so that's all that matters, right?
Hadlee made a haul when it came to gifts! Especially for someone who isn't hurting for toys in the first place. I love some of the faces she is making in these pictures though.

This is my favorite face of all.
The second time around making a birthday wish.
Last week we had a couple nice days, but not nice enough to play in a cold swim pool outside yet. So we ran a hose in through a window to a spout in our laundry room and filled the pool with hot water. Poof, a heated pool. We added the slide to complete the white trash water park. They stayed out and played for hours and loved it. Kids are so easy to please sometimes.

So, I thought Hadlee might have fun going shopping with her gift card I gave her, but now I'm not sure what to think after seeing that face!!
Hadlee is such a cutie!! If Julia were a nicer aunt, she'd just let Hadlee keep the trophy. Sheesh. :)
First of all, I think you did an awesome job on the cake. Secondly, you are like the coolest mom ever. White trash water parks are the best. Rock on dude! Imagine me acting like I am at a rock concert when I say that.
The slide was definitely a nice touch! Did you leave the hose coming out of the window for a few days? That would really have been the topper. :) I love Hadlee's cake! Where did you get your baking skills? Such a good mom. Hadlee is beautiful. You can even do girl hair. Can I come over and get some baking/hair do lessons before you move to Hawaii? Please? I've got the white trash down already.
I'm loving the white trash water park! I have to empty my pool and refill it with cold water because it gets too hot!
Great job on the cake. I'm impressed. That takes talent!! Your a profesh. Hadlee looks so adorable tell her congratulations for doing so well for me. That is awesome. I also love the idea about getting the hot water though the house thats awesome.
The cake looks so good. You should make one for Brayden's birthday. Hadlee looks so cute in the pictures.
I also want you to make Madison's birthday cake. We usually go the Coldstone route because I DON'T BAKE, but I would totally pay you to make the cake. Most likely it will be a horse theme, since that's what it's been for the last 10 years.
I love it! Your cake looks professionally crafted and Miss Hadlee is such a beauty!
Well, after seeing THAT cake on Jen's blog, I just had to click on over here and tell you that it is way smooth and impressive.
Also that you are so photogenic. You look so cute in all of the pics I see.
