Tyler took Calvin to the Carnival in town. It was set up in the mall parking lot and every time we drove by, he begged to go. I think he loved every second of it.
We went hiking at Colorado National Monument and our kids became Jr. Rangers.
This is right after they got their books. We were taking some pictures and an older couple asked if we wanted them to take our picture. Then the lady said, "Family pictures with all of you are priceless. You never know..." I immediately thought of my patriarchal blessing. It says something like, "Later in life you will serve in Relief Society....you will be able to relate well to those who have lost loved ones." I hope the old lady was just ranting and not some fortune teller. Either way, it is a priceless picture. After the hike and a few activities in their book, they got sworn in as Jr. Rangers. They are taking their oath. :) The completed certificates They also got a badge (that Hadlee is wearing) and a patch.
Our roles have been reversed for the summer. Tyler is staying home with the kids and I am working. It is not my ideal situation, but it was the best for our family at right now. I am trying to be positive about it, even thought it's hard sometimes. I have a great boss though. He and his wife gave me flowers that said, "Thank you for joining our practice." Tyler is being a good dad and doing fun things with our kids. He bought a pass to the dinosaur museum in town and I think the kids loved it. He even took pictures.
This dinosaur squirts water out of his mouth! (or her mouth, I guess.)
Not sure what was going on here. Hadlee looks like she couldn't be more excited right now.
