Desperate

I have heard that people in Florida are complaining about the 60 degree "cold front" that is currently torturing them. Huh, my family is so desperate for warm weather and warm weather activities that we went hiking Monday in 40 degree weather. The sad part is that when we got to Moab and got out of the car, 40 degrees actually felt good. I don't feel sorry for the Floridians. Here are some pictures of our hike up to Corona Arch.

My kids favorite part came before and after the hike when they got to throw rocks in the ice berg dotted river. They were trying to hit the ice as it floated by.

According to my dad and Jan, anything above 40 degrees constitutes shorts weather.

I thought Hadlee would be really whiny about the whole thing, but she did really well. She even wanted to lead the way back down. We didn't even have to threaten to turn the car around on the way there. Thanks for taking us hiking Dad and Jan.

At dinner last week, my kids were taking turns wearing my glasses from nerd night. I think it adds to the effect that Hadlee only has one bow tied.

I love those nerdy faces!!

I wonder what my kids think of me....

I often wonder what my kids think of me. It would be nice to be able to read their little minds sometimes.
I took Hadlee with me to Mutual the other night and one of my friends was talking about having to get her daughter's eyebrows waxed because if not, she has a uni brow. Hadlee started laughing and said, "my mom has those."
Last night we were at the dinner table and here is how the conversation went:
Tyler: (talking to me) "you are beautiful" (yeah, he was in trouble and trying to suck up.)
Hadlee: I think she's beautiful too
Then she looked at my work out garb and my hair piled on top of my head and continued,
"Well, I think you are beautiful and you're not."
Me: "Why am I not beautiful?"
Hadlee: "I think you are more sillier than beautiful."
(Tyler about fell off his chair laughing.)
During Christmas we had a small artificial tree that we put in Hadlee's room for her and after her "nap" one day I noticed she had decorated it. (The keys on there are my favorite)
I guess Hadlee thinks I am some silly looking, crazy lady with a uni brow, who picks up random things from around the house and throws them on a tree.
I really don't have a clue what Calvin thinks of me. He kisses me constantly so I think that's a good sign. Lately whenever we call his name because he is doing something he shouldn't he says, "Whaaaaat." I think he also likes to say sorry and kiss me because he keeps hitting me all the time. Is that a love/hit relationship?
