Tyler wanted to go for a drive last week. We drove up to Big Bear Lake, thinking we would get out and look and maybe sit by the water for a little while. It was seriously the curviest road I have ever been on. Tyler and I were both a little car sick and we never get car sick. Once we got up there, we really didn't know what we were doing and we couldn't really see a good spot to get out and walk by the water. So we ended up just driving around the lake and heading home. We joked as we started back down the roller coaster-of-a-road that maybe we should just get a room and stay the night there so we didn't have to drive back. We stopped and got some pizza (so we'd have something to puke up) at a Domino's/gas station, thinking that maybe if we got out of the car for a while and ate it might help. I really was worried about us all losing our pizza on the way home though. There wasn't really anywhere to sit and eat our pizza, we tired to look for a park but didn't find one. We ended up pulling over on the side of the road and the kids ate their pizza on the gravel. We were all kind of in a bad mood. Tyler and I felt like poop and the kids were mad we hadn't gotten out at the lake, we were all just ready to eat and get home. And then I looked around. It was actually a really pretty spot and I couldn't help but take 5 thousand pictures with my phone (and playing with all the editing features). Although, the trip made me a bit queasy, it also reminded me what's important, and I need those reminders every once in a while. It doesn't matter what happens in my life, as long as I have these guys with me.

When I went to take the picture, he wasn't bent over like this.
I just told him I took a picture of his butt.
These pine cones were huge. The picture really doesn't do them justice. Tyler walked down the hillside a little way to see if he could find one, but was too scared of wild animals to really look. I thought if I took a photo, it would be good enough but it just looks like a regular size pine cone. Pretend you can tell it's GIGANTIC.
We also got hot chocolate at the gas station. That's now Calvin's favorite drink since being released from his diet. I am not sure if it was cold enough to justify such a drink, but I have to pick my battles, right?
Oh my gosh, I love them.
:)
The sun was setting on the way home and somehow I had some battery life left on my phone so I kept on going.
