Hadlee's Birthday

Yesterday was Miss Hadlee's birthday and I wanted her to feel so special. I tell her "no" a lot, sometimes it seems like I never tell her yes, but yesterday I wanted to say yes as much as possible. I just wanted it to be such a great day for her and wanted her to know how much we love her. I hope we pulled it off. This is how the day went:
7:20 open present from mom and dad. We got her a couple dresses (she LOVES dresses) and summer outfits. I made her some braclets and a couple necklaces to go with her birthday outfit. Shoes, a couple little toys, and a birthday tiara.7:45 Hadlee makes her own birthday breakfast. I asked he what she wanted for breakfast and she said, "The pancakes that have sugar in them." Which really means, "the pancakes that are made with real flour and not that crap Calvin has to eat." She will eat the others but definitely prefers the real thing and Calvin was still in bed. I asked her if she wanted chocolate chips in her pancakes and she said she just wanted pancakes. She did request syrup with sugar in it since I usually will only let her have sugar-free syrup, which I said okay to because it was her birthday. Then she insisted on making the pancakes. I wanted to tell her "no, you go sit down while I make you breakfast, it's your birthday," but like I said, I wanted to tell her yes as much as possible. I felt a little silly having he make her own birthday breakfast, but that's what she wanted.

8:15 at Hadlee's request, she watches Shrek the Third.

10:00 we start getting everyone ready for the day. This is Hadlee all dressed up for her birthday. She automatically started posing when I was taking pictures, it was pretty funny. I think she felt pretty cute in her new outfit and accessories.

11:15 we go to the store to get the rest of the things needed for her cake and birthday celebration. Hadlee picks out a few different kinds of sprinkles for her cake.

12:30 we take everything home and get a hot dog for Calvin in a zip lock bag

1:00 we arrive at McDonald's where we get our food and then take a hot dog out of a bag for Calvin to eat. We have officailly become "those people." All of Price is currently talking about the idiots who take hot dogs to McDonald's. The kids eat and then play.

2:00 we arrive at home and it's nice enough the kids play out side for a couple hours. Calvin comes in early because he won't keep from getting in all of the neighbor's cars.

5:00 We leave for the Wave Pool.

I had kids climbing all over me for about the first hour, just mine anyway, all the other kids were so much better behaved.

Everyone had cake and ice cream. There was also another little girl at the party but she didn't think cake was worth getting out of the water for. This is Alycia, Hadlee, Gabe and Hannah. Calvin had two pieces of his own personal cake that was gluten and dairy free, he also had some soy ice cream. He wanted more but I really thought he had plenty of sugar and enough, so I shewed him back into the water to play. A little while later this is where we found him...

At least he was eating the right cake.

8:00 we got home from the pool and fed the kids some bacon (don't judge, it's quick and it wasn't full of sugar and Hadlee loves bacon), showered them and put them to bed. I think/hope Hadlee loved her birthday, but it was a little draining and I am glad it's over. At one point yesterday I told her, "You know, after today you are going to have to be good again because your birthday will be over."
She just matter a factly said, "I know."

That does sound like a good day and all of the sudden, I want some bacon. At the fair here they had chocolate covered bacon. Spencer told me a few days ago that I say "NO" way too much. Calvin's cake looked pretty good! Happy Birthday Hadlee!!!

Hey Amanda, I was totally blog stalking, he he he. Sorry we didn't make it to Hadlee's birthday party. It's actually your sister in laws fault :) Tyson was taking pictures of the Encore dance girls and didn't get home in time. I even bought a book with an inside joke for Hadlee. The book is "where do kisses come from?" It made me think of Zack and Hadlee and their "alledged" activities in primary class. I'll have to run it over there sometime soon!
