Today was the day....

We had this zip lock bag full of money. Every time we bring change home, we put it in the bag. Hadlee is, of course, fascinated with it. A few months ago we were having school and using the money to learn when she asked me if she could have all the money. I told her that as soon as she could count it by herself, she could have it.

This morning she wanted to go to McDonald's for breakfast. I asked her if she had money to pay for it. She said she didn't, but we did have this big bag of money. I told her we would need at least 15 dollars for breakfast and she started counting. When she announced the $20.37, I asked her if she wanted to keep it or spend it on breakfast. She was confused and I reminded her that I had told her when she could count it by herself she could have it. She decided to keep it and not go to McDonald's.

the haul

She was surprised how heavy it was. (Tyler and I both told her we liked her outfit today.Ü)

Later they set some chairs up right outside the front door to have some popsicles.

(I can not get her to keep her hand away from that area!!!)

They are facing a wall, which was funny because Hadlee said they wanted to set some chairs up to enjoy the outdoors while they ate.

That is adorable that she wanted to keep the money!! My grandpa always used cash and at the end of the day would throw the change into this huge planter jar. He called it "Pa's Piggybank" and whenever my sister and I would visit, we would take it to the bank and half it for a shopping spree. It is amazing how much a little change each day adds up!! I am starting to think I need to do it throughout the school year so I have some fun money to entertain kids all summer long. :)

I love the chairs facing the wall, too!!

What a smart little fart to count all that money!:) She is adorable. My favorite is the chairs facing the wall to enjoy the view! You will have to remind her that she is lucky enough to live in Hawaii and that the view is probably the nicest view she will ever have! :) Are you melting yet??

How fun. That is a great way to get her to learn how to count money. I also love that they were facing a wall. That is way funny.
